5 Alternative Kent Wedding Venues
At Together Forever Bridal we love hearing about wedding venues from our brides when they visit our Crayford boutique. There are so many gorgeous Kent wedding venues to choose from, but today we thought we’d blog about a few of the more unusual ones!
East Quay, Whitstable
This wedding venue is right on the beach in trendy Whitstable and the sunsets there are beautiful – perfect for some gorgeous wedding photos! The staff are professional, friendly and knowledgeable and the dining area and the outdoor patio (on the beach) is perfect for guests to mingle or wander off down the beach. Photography opportunities are plentiful with the right weather conditions – there are beach huts, deckchairs and a pier all on site!
The Night Yard, Canterbury
The Night Yard is an exciting and different venue for weddings, parties and events. It is very convenient for access from the A2 and is only a short distance from the historic city of Canterbury. The quadrangle setting ensures that events have total privacy and exclusivity whilst still retaining the open countryside ambience.
The Night Yard forms part of the Highland Court Farm family estate. The working farm is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The recent restoration incorporates all the modern facilities needed to make any occasion run smoothly and for everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed.
The Winding House, Dover
The award-winning Winding House is a spectacular restoration of an old Kent Coal Heritage Building near the picturesque village of Coldred (previous winner of Kent’s Best Kept Village). It is set between Canterbury and the Coast in a quiet country lane at the top of the North Downs amongst corn fields and the beautiful estate of Waldershare Park.
The imposing Victorian building, which is over 100 years old, has undergone a dazzling “grand designs” conversion to provide an intriguing mix of old and new. Perfect to ensure your wedding day is a day to remember!
Marleybrook House, Canterbury
Marleybrook House is an immaculately presented seventeenth century ‘chocolate box’ thatched farmhouse full of unique character, history and old world charm. Former home to the legendary international singer, actress and cabaret star Eartha Kitt, Marleybrook House is in a secluded location, offering total privacy and exclusivity, yet just seven miles from the city of Canterbury. The five acres of landscaped gardens, paddocks and woodland provide the perfect setting for a quintessential English Country Wedding.
They offer a choice of four areas; the formal Walled Garden, the open Gladed Lawn, the Oak Framed Barn and the Grand Marquee.
You can experience the nostalgia of the many quirky features in abundance there including an authentic Vintage Fayre with Victorian Swing Boats and traditional side stalls, original haywain, gypsy caravan, vintage tractor, age-old carts, butchers bike, red telephone box and much more!
Finish the evening in style and stay in Marleybrook’s traditionally renovated Showman’s Carriage which is based on the pullman style carriages currently used on the Orient Express.
Preston Court, Canterbury
This enchanting Kent venue is set in a secluded private estate. Surrounded by ornamental lakes and gardens, Preston Court has as many eclectic features including 17th century barnyard, beautiful vintage mechanical organs, carousel rides and steam engines, as well as a unique, magical moated island!
