5 Winter Wedding Ideas
Winter weddings are becoming increasingly popular as more couples realise the benefits of getting married ‘out of season’. Here at Together Forever Bridal Boutique we love helping our brides find the perfect dress, whatever the season! We know that winter weddings don’t have to feel like a compromise, there’s plenty you can do to style your wedding to ensure it’s an occasion you and your guests will never forget!
Here are five ideas to make your winter wedding is as stylish as can be! We’ve plenty of ideas on our Winter Wedding Pinterest board too!
Avoid the predictable (but gorgeous!) reds and greens and consider a silver and white theme with crystal accents. This can add some serious glamour to your winter wedding! Textures are always important in the winter, so consider using velvets and satin embellished with crystals to create a virtual winter wonderland. If you like to keep things simple, then sculptural lines in ivory always look great for winter weddings too!
Use crystal curtain backdrops adorned with hanging strands of white or cream flowers to add an extra special touch! Hanging flowers are going to be a huge trend for 2018-19 weddings, but more on that in a future post!
Glowing church candles and votive candles will add both warmth and romance to your reception. If, however, you want to add a little more drama then think ‘Frozen’ with ice sculptures and vases with tall winter-white branches and hanging crystals to reflect the light from the tables.
Food and Drink
Depending on your venue(s) winter wedding guests usually appreciate warm, comforting drinks. You really can’t go wrong serving winter cocktails, hot chocolate and warm toddies! You could even set up a hot chocolate bar! As long as your menu ingredients are in season and locally sourced there is nothing you can’t serve to your guests from hearty soups to traditional winter roasts.
Accentuate your chosen season with a white, vintage-style cake, dusted with edible silver powder. For accents, have your baker add a white satin ribbon and crystal drops or snowflakes cascading down one side of the cake. Alternatively, you can go more rustic with a pine cone adorned cake, of even have an iced cake with a knitted white cable pattern!
Give out small packages of chocolate-covered cranberries or roasted chestnuts. Or how about mini hot chocolate mixes, soy candles or gingerbread cookies? If Christmas is just around the corner, consider a crystal heart decoration for the tree.
